I had a photo shoot yesterday for a magazine advertisement and I was so inspired by how fresh and clean the space looked by just changing out the pillows/fabric on the pillows to give it a whole new look!
Anyone that knows me, knows that I like to change it up. One of my favorite ways to do it is with fabric. It can be as easy as a new pillow for your room or as big as reupholstering or slipcovering a sofa. Colors are trending and the easiest way to follow the trend is to visit a fabric store. It's one of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE things to do! For me, it's like walking into an art gallery.
Grays have been popular for a while now, but black, white and creams are taking over this neutral.
Blues are still popular and I'm trying to figure a way to blend that into my present colors.
What's old is new again. The days of flowers, mauve, blue and coral are coming back. I like the corals, but not ready for mauves.
The prints and mix of colors are so beautiful. Fabrics have come a long way and many of them have an embroidered look and paint like quality. Because of this, be sure to ask how much the fabric is per yard. Some of the prettier ones can be up to $120/yard.
My favorite local fabric stores are West Fabrics and Mansure in Greenville and surprisingly, All About Fabrics in Williamston which has discounted fabrics that are still current as well as designer fabrics.
Have fun with it! Spring is just around the corner and this is an easy, fairly inexpensive way to update your space!
